Bone marrow is a sponge-like tissue found within the bones. It houses hematopoietic stem cells and other important growth factors needed for healing. Bone marrow derived stem cells have been used for treating various conditions for over 30 years, including spine fusions.  These are the stem cells used the most in research over the past few decades and have been shown through research to help with most conditions. They are also becoming one of the primary tools used to treat cancer as well as the damaged organs caused by chemotherapy.

We harvest the bone marrow cells from your pelvis using a needle. This sample is placed in a centrifuge and the stem cells and growth factors are extracted from the bone marrow and used for treatment. These cells can differentiate into many types of tissue in your body and turn your body’s own stem cells back on to naturally heal your damaged areas.
